Marking World TB Day!
BINGHAM UNIVERSITY’S ZANKLI RESEARCH CENTRE MARKS WORLD TUBERCULOSIS DAY 2023. The Zankli Research Centre joined other local as well as international organizations to commemorate World Tuberculosis (TB) Day on March 24. This day had been observed since the year 1882 when Dr. Robert Koch, German physician and microbiologist, announced that he had discovered the organism that causes TB. The theme for this year's World TB Day: ‘Yes! We can end TB!’ conveys a message of hope and getting back-on-track to turn the tide against the TB epidemic through high-level leadership, increased investments, adoption of innovations, accelerated action and multi-sectoral collaborations. The event was marked with a road walk from Kuchikau to Masaka Market to raise awareness of the disease.
